Alcohol Testimonials

It started with a drink. Then I kept needing more and more. Then once I started drinking I couldn't stop. I wanted to stop but it was a consuming force driving me to have just one more. I went to God, begging to get out, but I wasn't ready to change & do my part. Finally someone shared the truth of God with me, Jesus paid the price to deliver me, if I'd get serious and repent, He would deliver me. I did and continue to stand & resist with power & might from the Lord.

Praise the Lord, He has set me free from connections with the occult, alcohol, lust, anger, suicide, impure thoughts, drugs, Jesus has given me freedom in so many areas of my life. Again praise the Lord.

Hello, I'm a 30 year sober member of Alcoholics Anonymous. AA's third step to recovery says, "We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God,as we understood him (this last phrase in Italics)". The last few years I've noticed that my fellow AAs have a great deal of difficulty with this step. They seem to think that it amounts to selling your soul or that a person who takes this step will be demeaned by it the way we would be demeaned if we sold ourselves to another person. I realized that they had a concept of God that was small and that, with a Big God, taking the step would not be demeaning.
